Microgrid & resilience
Grid outages in the Midwest and Northeast are getting longer and more frequent. For cold storage, food processing, pharma, healthcare and campuses, the cost of one extended outage can exceed the cost of the microgrid that would have prevented it.
Resilience that earns its keep every day
An ecojiva microgrid is not idle insurance. On a normal day its solar and storage cut demand charges and energy cost under ecoSEMS control. When the grid fails, the same assets island automatically and carry the loads you designate for as long as the sun and fuel last.
Critical load design
We identify what must stay on (refrigeration, CA rooms, cleanroom HVAC, controls, IT, life safety) and size to that, not the whole site.
Solar + storage + generation
PV, LFP batteries and existing or new generators combined behind an automatic transfer and microgrid controller.
Seamless islanding
Sub-second transfer for sensitive loads, with UPS bridging where required.
ecoSEMS control
One platform runs grid-connected optimization and islanded operation, including fuel-saving generator dispatch.
Utility coordination
Interconnection agreements, anti-islanding protection and utility witness testing.
Daily value
On normal days the same assets cut demand charges and energy cost, so the resilience benefit is largely free.

Questions
How long can a microgrid run without the grid?
It depends on the critical load and the mix of solar, storage and fuel. Solar plus storage commonly carries a defined critical load overnight; adding a generator extends operation indefinitely with fuel, while solar reduces fuel burn during the day.
Is a microgrid worth it for a mid-size facility?
When the assets also produce daily savings under ecoSEMS, the resilience benefit is largely free. Cold storage, food processing and life-science facilities with high product-loss exposure typically justify it fastest.
